Hi there! I’m Julie!
Writer | Blogger | Library Enthusiast
My circuitious journey started with books and reading, and is circling back to libraries. As a kid, I read constantly and loved trips to the library. After a long career as a tech writer, I’m slowing down and circling back to those roots. Libraries, reading, writing. Hence, this site. It’s my library life list!
I hope you’ll join in and find something of interest. Each library is different. Unique finds are in each. It’s truly a wonderful journey. Pop in to your neighborhood library, and those in towns you visit. You’ll be pleasantly surprised, I promise!
The Deets…
With a B.A. Degree in English/Technical Communications, I was able to write many a reference guide over the course of my career. Help files for software, manuals for hardware, safety manuals, presentations, large documentation projects, policies & procedures, websites, and more. It has been an incredible career.
After an accident where I sustained a concussion with a long-term recovery, I pivoted to blogging and online work. I first blogged about tech comm and ran a Twitter chat for tech writers around the world. Then I switched over to concussion advocacy and set up some concussion websites.
Over all these years, I’ve received awards and recognition for tech writing, web design, email marketing, and blogging. I’m still based in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
Now, I’m switching to blogging about libraries. After decades of preparing reference materials and advocacy work, I’m focusing on something more fun. I hope you follow along and start your own library journey!
