Lead

Lead, SD library doorway

Lead is Exhibit A why road trips are so rewarding. While traipsing through the Black Hills in South Dakota, we came upon Lead (which isn’t far from Deadwood). It’s an inviting picturesque small town steeped in history, hosts the Sanford Underground Research Facility, and has a library which has the most inviting doorway of all I’ve seen to date.

It’s a cozy library with a wonderful selection of books to peruse. The selections on display were very good. I took pictures of a couple that I want to look into more. I’ve included them below. Thanks, Lead library for the suggestions. I’d check them out if I lived there!

Intriguing Books on Display

These two books caught my eye. How can one resist the first? For TR, I’m a big fan so will add this to my list. Nice work, librarians!

Activities

The library also hosts a variety of gatherings for the community. If you’re there, take a look at the website!

If you visit, be sure and also check out the Sanford Research Lab. It’s a complete surprise and also worth your time to visit.
